Pacific oysters in the Salish Sea may not contain as many microplastics as previously thought

Using advanced instrumentation in the Molecular Analysis Facility, researchers in the lab of MolES faculty member Christine Luscombe and at the School of Aquatic & Fishery Sciences have discovered that Salish Sea oysters may not contain as many microplastic contaminants as previously thought.

The MAF is part of the National Nanotechnology Coordinated Infrastructure (NNCI), a National Science Foundation-funded effort to coordinate nanoscale research and development activities across the United States, and is supported by NNCI-2025489 and NNCI-1542101.
