The Vibromet 2 is a vibratory polisher for SEM Sample Preparation. It prepares high quality surfaces for Z-contrast SEM imaging and electron back-scatter diffraction (EBSD). Following mechanical preparation, the Vibromet removes remaining minor deformations with colloidal silica polish enabling the collection of back-scatter electron images free of topographic contrast and coherent electron back-scatter diffraction patterns (EBSPs) from the surface. The Vibromet is one of many sample preparation tools for electron microscopy.
